Every year on July 28th, the world comes together to raise awareness about viral hepatitis. World Hepatitis Day 2024 carries the theme "It's Time for Action," and at Supreme Care Health Foundation, we couldn't agree more.

Our Activities This World Hepatitis Day

  • Free HBsAg and HCV screening for community members
  • Public awareness talks in markets, churches, mosques, and schools
  • Distribution of hepatitis education materials
  • Social media awareness campaign reaching thousands online
  • Partnership with local radio stations for health education broadcasts

The Numbers That Drive Us

  • Over 300 million people worldwide live with chronic Hepatitis B
  • Nigeria accounts for about 8% of global Hepatitis B cases
  • Hepatitis kills approximately 1.1 million people annually
  • Yet a safe, effective vaccine has existed for decades

A Message from Our Executive Director

These numbers are not just statistics — they represent real people, families, and communities. World Hepatitis Day is not just a date on the calendar for us — it is a reminder of the work that remains to be done. Every person we screen, every person we vaccinate, every family we educate brings us one step closer to a Hepatitis-free Nigeria.

How to Get Involved

Know your status by getting screened for Hepatitis B and C. Get vaccinated — the Hepatitis B vaccine is safe and effective. Share this information with your family, friends, and community. Support SCHF's programs through donations and volunteering.
